CONSUMER DIRECTED CARE
Consumer Directed Care gives you flexibility and choice. At Adelaide Quality Care we will work with you and your family or carers, to identify your requirements and individual goals. It’s all about your care and your needs. What makes you happy, what keeps you safe and active in your home and community environment. You choose how your package can work for you. We’ll work closely with you to make that happen.
HOME CARE PACKAGES
The Australian Government provides four levels of support:
- Home Care Level 1 – basic care needs
- Home Care Level 2 – low level care needs
- Home Care Level 3 – intermediate care needs
- Home Care Level 4 – high care needs
There is a formal assessment process to determine what level of care and support you require. You will need to register through My Aged Care which you can do by phoning 1800 200 422 or visiting their website www.myagedcare.gov.au
If phoning or the internet seems a little daunting, we would be happy to come and help you register, just call us on 1800 870 099 number to arrange a time.
Once the formal assessment process has been completed, you will be placed on a waiting list, and allocated the appropriate level package. How you use the package will be your choice. You may want help with daily living activities such as showering, cleaning, meal preparation, gardening, transportation to appointments, or you may need more specialised care from a nurse or physio.
Under Consumer Directed Care, you could go to bridge, backgammon, exercise classes, or art classes – the list is endless.
There are some things that the money can’t be spent on, such as holidays, but at Adelaide Quality Care we will sit down with you and talk through what your needs are, to keep you as happy, active, safe, and involved in your community as you see fit.
